A little garden house

The weather in Townsville in July is reliably charming. This was the day (back in 2014 - I'm trying to catch up here a bit) that we had a new double bed mattress delivered for Timmy.  Our neighbour Natalie had the idea of turning the big delivery box into a cubby house. It lasted nearly a week before it was rained on.

eggs for decorating

From these photos, it might not be clear that Tim actually took quite an active part in decorating these eggs.  But the parts where he was involved were NOT the parts when I took out my camera - my hands were already full!  Tim was actually pretty good at handling the boiled eggs and dropping them carefully into the dye.  He was also in charge of deciding how much dye went in for each colour. I think he did well!

Peace at Christmas

Peace at Christmas, originally uploaded by &Naomi.

It was our first hot weekend of the summer, and it put me in the mind and mood for Christmas.

Each year I think it's not going to happen ... then I find myself getting inspired about Christmas decorations, about Christmas food and treats and, yes, even sometimes about Christmas gifts (for others! not just for myself). Even this year, when we're not going anywhere and no-one is coming to visit us, I still felt compelled to arrange this tiny understated Christmas blessing on our house and on our lives ... or perhaps it is more of a request?

cat and quilt

Cat Quilt 2
This quilt was made to match the cat, and definitely not the other way around.

Surely I'm not the only person to have done this ... to their cat?

crafty

Crafty

These little trees have no earthly purpose, but I'm loving stitching them.

Perhaps this is part of the charm of craft?
